Timlandslide

Landslide

Hopefully this will build to a full chronological history and at various times I feel quite motivated to do so, but then it all gets a bit reflective and I think of better things to do instead.. so work in progress. In the meantime you’ll find various flyers and reviews (the ones I kept / could find that is) which give some context.

Landslide was born out of my association with Hospital records, initially I did some programming/engineering work for them in 1996 and worked on a few tunes back then with Tony Colman. Later in 98 I signed to them as an artist and took the name Landmass, this was changed to Landslide because of another artist by the name of Danmass working in a similar vein (pre-google this stuff took some time to work out!) Early duties on the label also involved me working under the London Elektricity banner in which I produced several tracks for their first album and a whole bunch of remixes.

I also worked on the Galactic Disco imprint, their then House label, this was probably more of a precursor to the 2step direction I would take later on, check the Yukihiro Fukutomi remix above.

The FWD era – 2001 – 2007.

I was a resident DJ at the now seminal FWD night starting at the Velvet rooms and then moving to its long residency at Plastic People. This was the period now commonly referred to as proto-dubstep before it amalgamated properly into a more recognisable scene sometime round 2006.
